Charleston is beginning to warm up as summer is upon us, and that means Rhea and I have adjusted our schedule so we can soak up the warmer weather.
We’re now going for walks earlier in the morning and later in the evening, which means I’ve had to move my meditation time to later in the day.
In any case, it’s a joy to witness Rhea’s enthusiasm as she greets our neighbors, who are outside enjoying the weather or tending to their yards.
During moments like these, I often find myself pondering the values we hold dear in our lives.
For me, it’s always interesting to consider how each person’s unique values can shape their perceptions and guide their choices.
That being said, I want to explore how your perception of what’s true, and the judgments and fears created by that perception, can create limiting beliefs that hinder your spiritual growth.
What’s more, I’m going to explain what you can do to prevent that from happening.
So, if you want to grow spiritually and learn how to eliminate fears, or you’re wondering how to stop limiting beliefs, then I hope you take the time to keep reading.
How Can Challenging My Perceptions Enhance My Spiritual Growth?
Without an understanding of what we perceive as true, and how that affects our thinking and our actions, it’s going to be very difficult, if not impossible, to grow spiritually.
And if you want to understand your perception of what’s true, one of the best things you can do is consider your values.
Taking stock of what you value in this life, analyzing those values, and trying to understand why you value the things you do, can be incredibly insightful and beneficial to your spiritual growth.
With that in mind, I invite you to take a few moments to think about your values, including both your moral and ethical values and the physical or intangible things that hold value for you.
You might want to write them down on a piece of paper.
Then, once you’ve done that, you can delve into what lies behind each of the values you’ve included on your list.
This is certainly something worth exploring, as our values tend to be rooted in our perceptions of truth.
The reality is most, if not all, of our perceptions are based on what we deem to be true, and the rest of our beliefs are typically built out from there.
But what is truth?
You might be surprised to find out that the word truth is quite tricky, or should I say subjective?
For example, there once was a time when the idea of the Earth being flat was considered indisputable truth, and if you challenged that truth, you’d be put in prison, or even worse, killed!
Eventually, that truth was challenged and today, everybody knows the Earth is round, and that’s considered indisputable.
I wonder what the truth will be a hundred years from now.
Whatever the case, this example shows that truth is only true as long as we judge it to be.
Now that we’re on the topic of judgment, I should take this opportunity to discuss how our judgments are affected by our perspective on what’s true.
The truth is your judgments are usually based on what you’ve been told by others, and this shapes your beliefs and reinforces your perceived truths, creating a cycle that can hinder your spiritual growth if you allow yourself to become mired in judgment-based dogma.
At the same time, these judgments help to create your beliefs, and those beliefs can create even more judgments, which help determine what you deem to be true.
This can devolve into a looping pattern of behavior that keeps you shackled to your limiting beliefs, fears, and judgments, and unable to grow.
With that in mind, I hope you understand how convoluted this is, and how easy it is for you to hinder your spiritual growth by getting stuck in this kind of behavior pattern.
And if you’re serious about enhancing your spiritual growth, then I hope you take the time to challenge your perceptions of what’s true, embrace the fluid nature of truth, and ultimately, reconsider your judgments.
Letting Go of the Dogma of Right vs. Wrong
If you want to grow spiritually, stop limiting beliefs, and eliminate fears, you’ve got to avoid becoming mired in the dogma of what you believe is true, and the dogma of right and wrong.
Instead, you should embrace flexibility and fluidity, and try to transcend the confines of what most of us consider to be right or wrong.
It is only when you can move into this level of flexibility and fluidity that you can truly grow spiritually.
As the poet, Rumi, eloquently put it, “Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I’ll meet you there.”
This “field” represents a realm of infinite possibility, where we can shed the illusions of this dimension and reconnect with the true essence of our being.
To me, this is a quote of love and a promise as to what can be possible when we move into the fluidity of the universe, and let go of the illusions of this dimension, which attempt to explain what truth is.
Is that not the direction back to the Creator? Back home?
Throughout my journey in this world, I’ve found solace in exploring the quantum realms – a space where illusions dissipate, and true spiritual growth begins.
Within these quantum realms, you can learn to eliminate fears and limiting beliefs by shifting out of your illusions, recognizing them for what they are, and choosing not to invest in them.
To aid you on this path to greater freedom, I’ve included a guided meditation below, which is what I call a Waters to Illumination clearing.
It is designed to help you dissolve fears and limiting beliefs that are hindering your spiritual growth.
With that in mind, no matter what you’re going through in life, you should remember that you’re not alone on this journey. And if you need some support, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Love to all,
